Position Summary:
The Physical Literacy Program Coordinator supports North Toronto Soccer’s mission to foster a
lifelong love of sport and active living. This role focuses on designing and delivering
age-appropriate, inclusive programs that develop physical literacy and fundamental movement
skills for children ages 7–11, preparing them for soccer participation and overall physical
confidence.
The Coordinator will work closely with technical staff and coaches to ensure programming aligns
with North Toronto’s vision, mission and the club’s holistic approach to athlete development.
Program Development & Delivery
● Promote the program internally and externally
● Design and implement physical literacy sessions for Grassroots and Recreational
programs (U7-10)
● Create engaging, fun and safe environments that promote movement skill development
(e.g. running, jumping, throwing, balance, agility, catching, coordination etc)
● Provide session plans for the program to share with the grassroots and recreational staff
Program Management & Evaluation
● Schedule, coordinate and manage the logistics of the physical literacy program
● Work with Director of Operations / Technical Manager to prepare reports for potential
sponsorships or grants
● Gather participant and parent feedback to continue to enhance the program
Qualifications
● Experience working and delivering children’s physical activity or grassroots sport
programs.
● Knowledge of physical literacy, Long-Term Player Development (LTPD)
● Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
● Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
● Standard First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
● Background check / Vulnerable Sector Check required.
● NCCP courses - Making headway, making ethical decisions, understanding rule of 2 etc
(must be willing to complete)
Preferred
● Coaching Certification - FUNdamentals, Learn to Train
● Background in child development and/or physical education
