Role Purpose
Sandbach United FC is seeking an ambitious, committed, and progressive Women’s First Team Manager to lead, develop, and manage the club’s senior women’s team. The successful candidate will be responsible for on-field performance, player development, and fostering a positive, inclusive culture aligned with the club’s values.
This role is ideal for a motivated coach looking to make a meaningful impact within a growing women’s football programme.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management & Performance
- Plan, deliver, and oversee all first team training sessions and matchday activities
- Select teams and manage substitutions and tactics on matchdays
- Develop and implement a clear playing philosophy.
- Analyse performances and identify areas for improvement
Player Development & Welfare
- Support the development of players both individually and collectively
- Create a positive, inclusive, and high-performance environment
- Monitor player welfare, fitness, and availability
- Encourage player retention and progression within the club
Coaching & Staffing
- Work collaboratively with assistant coaches, support staff, and volunteers
- Identify and recommend additional coaching or support needs where appropriate
- Ensure all staff adhere to FA safeguarding and best practice guidelines
Administration & Communication
- Communicate effectively with players, club officials, opposition teams, and league representatives
- Ensure compliance with league rules, FA regulations, and safeguarding policies
- Assist with recruitment and trials when required
- Attend club meetings as necessary
Club Representation
- Act as an ambassador for Sandbach United FC at matches and events
- Promote the women’s section of the club positively within the local community
- Support the growth and profile of women’s football at Sandbach United
Essential Requirements
- FA Level 1 (Introduction to Coaching Football) minimum
- Valid FA Safeguarding Children certificate
- FA Emergency Aid qualification
- Experience coaching or managing a women’s or girls’ team
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Commitment to equality, inclusion, and player welfare
Desirable
- FA Level 2 or higher coaching qualification
- Experience managing at senior women’s level
- Knowledge of local women’s football leagues and pathways
- Ability to support player recruitment and development
Time Commitment
- Training sessions (typically 1–2 evenings per week)
- Matchdays (usually Sundays)
- Occasional meetings and club events
