Football Coach (Part-Time) – We Make Footballers Watford
Location: Watford & surrounding areas
Hours: Part-time (including evenings & weekends)
Salary range: £10 - £20 per hour, depending on qualification and experience
We Make Footballers Watford is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Football Coach to join our growing team. You’ll play a key role in delivering fun, engaging, and high-quality sessions across our indoor and outdoor venues, helping players of all abilities build confidence, develop their skills, and enjoy the game.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging coaching sessions for players aged 4–12, creating a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where every child can learn and improve.
- Work collaboratively with our coaching team, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience that reflects the We Make Footballers philosophy.
- Support player transitions - you will eagerly build positive relationships with players and families
Essential Requirements:
- FA Level 2/UEFA C Licence
- Strong organisational & communication skills
- Passion for grassroots football and player development
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Valid First Aid & Safeguarding certificates
- Full UK driving licence & access to a vehicle (desirable)

While grassroots is the heartbeat of kids loving football, parents are rarely trained or equipped to introduce the sport in those crucial early stages, especially with such large groups and little support.

We find if you give players all the answers, they get lazy. They don’t think for themselves. They can’t problem solve. We want to present situations in which the environment teaches them and they can learn continuously with no fear of making mistakes.
We Make Footballers believe in a combination of learning through discovery, guided discovery and occasionally an autocratic (controlling) coaching style.Guided discovery will often speed up the process in which the player finds the ‘right answer’. With trial and error, we are hoping the child gets the answer, however it may not come. The guidance points them in the right direction (the right direction is always open to interpretation).
