Purpose of role
Southend United FC is seeking a dynamic First Team Analyst to play a key role in player recruitment and delivering high-quality performance and opposition analysis to support the first team coaching staff and players.
This is a hands-on role at the heart of the football department, blending tactical acumen with data-driven insight to impact training, match preparation, recruitment, and in-game decision-making. You will be responsible for generating actionable insights through video, data, and tools such as Impect, StatsBomb, Hudl Sportscode, and more.

The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience working in an elite footballing environment as a first team analyst.
You will have detailed football knowledge and tactical understanding, with the ability to demonstrate how that can be applied in a practical setting. You will be able to demonstrate your findings in a fast-paced environment to the footballing department and players.
Your experience will include analysing individual performance, analysing training sessions and analysing opposition, aligning this within the team setting and wider club philosophy.
It is essential that you have a flexible and dedicated approach to work, enabling certain tasks/demands to be conducted during unsociable hours.
Being self-motivated, you are comfortable working independently or within a team. You can work in a high-pressured environment, meeting tight deadlines whilst maintaining high standards and confidentiality.
