JOB TITLE: Shift Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Facilities

DIRECT REPORTS: Yes 5

LOCATION: Based at Stamford Bridge but is also responsible to undertake tasks for Kingsmeadow and Cobham when required

CONTRACT: Permanent 40hrs, Shift pattern - 4 on 4 off 

 

JOB FUNCTION: The Facilities Shift Supervisor oversees the maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of Stamford Bridge Estate’s facilities, ensuring that they are safe, well-maintained, and meet the needs of the organization. This role involves managing a team of maintenance staff, coordinating with external vendors, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities): 

  • Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Supervise, coordinate and complete routine maintenance and repairs of facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and building structures.
    • Schedule, oversee and complete preventive maintenance activities to prevent equipment failure and extend the life of assets.
    • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
    • Ensure optimal response to emergency callouts & breakdowns
  • Facility Operations:
    • Ensure that all building systems (e.g., lighting, heating, cooling, security, etc.) are operating efficiently.
    • Manage facility inspections pre and post matchday to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety and health standards.
    • Implement energy-saving measures and sustainable practices to reduce operational costs.
    • Be the escalation point of contact for out of hours calls
    • Stakeholder management, be able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders, produce reports, manage expectations.
  • Team Supervision:
    • Communicate lead, train, and manage a team of maintenance technicians.
    • Assign PPM tasks, monitor performance, and ensure that work is completed to high standards.
    • Provide ongoing training and development to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
    • Drive a positive culture within the working environment to build team moral.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks (e.g., elevator repairs, etc.).
    • Monitor service quality, and ensure that work is completed on time and within budget.
    • Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Budget Management:
    • Track and report on R&C, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure that your team complies with all safety regulations and building codes.
    • Implement and oversee safety programs, including fire safety, emergency preparedness, and workplace safety training.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any issues promptly.
    • Drive safety culture
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
    • Prepare reports on facility operations, including maintenance logs, PPM/SLA/KPI reporting, incident reports, and energy usage.
    • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.

PROUD TO BE CHELSEA (Person Specification):

Qualifications:

  •      H&S qualification (NEBOSH/IOSH managing safely)
  •      Engineering qualifications either to a C&G or HNC level
  •      L8 Legionella
  •      HV qualified

 

Experience:

  •      Experience within the facilities industry, working in a similar environment or large scale estate/hotel
  •      Hands on experience delivering maintenance in a variety of working environments
  •      At least five years managing within a facilities engineering environment
  •      Extensive knowledge and experience of building services, building construction & stadium/hotel maintenance.
  •      Experience managing and developing a team of technicians
  •      Experience managing CAFM systems
  •      Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
  •      Managing and developing established maintenance team
