Background
Union FC was founded in 2020, following the amalgamation between Bradford Soccer Club and
DFC Academy. Bradford Soccer Club was founded in 1993 as Bradford Minor Soccer
Association, a non-profit organization, providing the opportunity for kids in the Bradford
community to partake in organized soccer and develop their skills under the guidance of
licensed coaches. In 2004, the club was then renamed to Bradford Soccer Club. In 2015,
Bradford Soccer Club won their first National Championship, signifying a significant milestone
for the club and community.

DFC Academy was founded in 2014, in partnership with FC Porto, to provide kids within the
Bradford community to train and develop under the direction of educated coaches from
Portugal, with opportunities to receive scholarships within North America and play abroad in
Europe.


Position Summary
In line with Union FC’s vision and mission, the Goalkeeper Coach is in charge of providing
leadership and development within all age groups specific to goalkeepers. The role oversees all
facets of the development program, practice, curriculum and program/session planning.

The club is seeking a committed individual who is enthusiastic about learning and dedicated to
developing players within the community.


Duties & Responsibilities
● In alignment with the Ontario Soccer Long-Term Player Development Plan, develop and
execute age appropriate training sessions that includes 6 hours of training sessions
weekly
● Other duties assigned by the Technical Directors
● Attend Coach Education and Development Sessions
● Promoting and implementing Union FC’s ideology
● Communicate with parents and the wider membership


Experience & Skills
● Age-appropriate certifications (FUNdamentals, Learn to Train, Soccer for Life,
C-License)
● 1+ years coaching experience
● Strong management and leadership skills
● Strong communication skills
● Experience working with children
● Valid driver’s license and accessibility to a vehicle
● CRB Police Check (Police Vulnerable Sector Check)
● Eligible to work in Canada
● A comprehensive understanding of Ontario Soccer and Union FC is an asset
