First Team Coach (Volunteer)

Job Description

Lightwater United FC are seeking a committed and ambitious First Team Coach to join our senior setup for the 2025/26 season. This is a fantastic opportunity for a developing coach looking to step into the men’s game and gain genuine hands-on experience at Step 8 level.

You will be working directly alongside our First Team Manager, who is UEFA B Licensed with experience in Category 2 & Category 3 academies. This is a genuine coaching development pathway, with support, learning opportunities, and gradual progression of responsibilities for the right person.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver Thursday night first team training sessions, with support from the Manager.

  • Assist with matchday preparation, including:

    • Warm-ups

    • Pre-match organisation

    • Support with substitutions and in-game feedback when appropriate.

  • Contribute to session planning, team development, and squad culture.

  • Work collaboratively with the First Team Manager and club committee to enhance standards on and off the pitch.

Ideal Candidate

  • FA Level 1 (Introduction to Coaching Football) required
    (Level 2 / UEFA C desirable but not essential)

  • Positive communicator with a professional approach.

  • Passionate about coaching and eager to develop their understanding of adult competitive football.

  • Local to Lightwater, or within 10 miles surrounding area.

  • Reliable, committed, and able to attend Thursday training and matchdays (Saturdays).
