Lead Football Coach (Part-time)

Location: Nailsea (with sessions also in Portishead, Somerset, UK)
Hours: 1 – 8 hours per week
Typical Weekday Session Times:

  • Monday: 5:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Tuesday: 5:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Wednesday: 5:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Thursday: 5:00pm – 7:00pm
  • Friday: 5:00pm – 7:00pm

About Priority Football

Are you a passionate, energetic, and inspiring football coach? Do you enjoy helping children and teenagers improve their technique, confidence, and love for the game? If so, this role is for you.

As a Lead Football Coach at Priority Football, your priority will be delivering technical coaching sessions on weekdays (no weekend matches). You’ll coach players aged 2-16 and have the option to assist with holiday camps when your schedule allows. You’ll foster a supportive, fun, safe environment for players to grow their skills and enjoyment of football.

We run multiple technical sessions across Nailsea and Portishead weekly. We support our coaches with resources, support, and chances to grow as mentors too.

What You’ll Receive

  • Pay: £12.50 – £35.00 per 50-minute session (based on experience / qualifications)

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver technical football coaching sessions for players aged 2–16 (focusing on technique, ball mastery, skills)
  • Motivates and engages players; help them improve and enjoy the game
  • Manage behaviour appropriately and maintain a positive, inclusive environment
  • Provide feedback and encouragement to players and guardians
  • Ensure all sessions adhere to safeguarding, health & safety, and club policies
  • Mentor or support junior/assistant coaches as part of development programmes
  • Represent Priority Football positively in the local community

Required / Essential

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience coaching football or working in youth football settings
  • At least FA Level 1 / Introduction in Coaching Football (or equivalent)
  • Strong planning and delivery skills, especially for technical coaching
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership qualities
  • Valid DBS check (if yours is expired or missing, we’ll assist with renewal)
  • Safeguarding and First Aid certifications (or willingness to complete; we can support)
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and comfortable working weekday evenings

Desirable / Nice to Have

  • UEFA C Licence or higher, or FA Level 2 (or equivalent), or actively working toward one
  • Previous lead coaching or technical coaching experience
  • Experience mentoring or developing other coaches
  • Own transport for traveling between locations
  • Valid enhanced DBS
