Salary: £28,000–£30,000 per annum

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Location: The Foundry, West Ham United Foundation, 60A Albatross Close, Beckton, London E6 5NX

Working Pattern: ‘A minimum of 3 days a week in the office’ flexible hours for events and evening/weekend work


About the Role

West Ham United Foundation is seeking a passionate and proactive Fundraising & Events Officer to help deliver a diverse range of events and fundraising initiatives that support our community-focused mission.

Working closely with the Fundraising Manager, you’ll take the lead on key fundraising events such as our Annual Gala Dinner and Golf Day, while also coordinating commercial and community events at our newly redeveloped Foundation Hub — from children’s birthday parties to corporate away days.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact within the charitable arm of West Ham United FC, helping to raise vital funds that support over 35 programmes and engage more than 50,000 participants each season across East London and Essex.

Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate a range of fundraising and commercial events.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, partners, suppliers, and donors.
  • Support budget management and fundraising income generation (e.g. auctions, raffles).
  • Coordinate event logistics, staffing, and customer service to ensure a first-class experience.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to promote events.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide post-event analysis and reporting.

You’re organised, creative, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You’ll have a keen eye for detail, a flair for event delivery, and a passion for making a difference through community engagement and fundraising.


Essential:

  • Proven experience in event planning and coordination (ideally fundraising or community, charity, or sports sector focused.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.
  • Strong customer service and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices and digital donation platforms.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements for events.
