About this role:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Retail Designer to join our retail team. This role is key to shaping the look and feel of our club branded apparel collections across men\ women and junior ranges. From initial concept through to final product sign-off, you will be instrumental in delivering designs that resonate with our fanbase and reflect our club heritage, values and commercial goals.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the Club visual identity and driving merchandise sales across both physical and online retail channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the marketing and media team to align merchandise campaigns with the overall Club messaging.
  • Design own brand clothing and merchandise ranges, across multiple categories, including lifestyle wear, performance kits, and accessories inline with seasonal strategies and Club branding.
  • Research current and future market trends, fan insights and competitor activity to inform commercially viable product ranges and collaborate closely with ecommerce, buying and marketing teams to build a product roadmap.
  • Create moodboards, sketches, colour palettes and trend presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attend design reviews and sampling meetings, providing feedback and direction to ensure brand consistency and product quality.
  • Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers and partners to ensure that designs meet brand and compliance guidelines.
  • Monitor and manage the design critical path to ensure timely product development and delivery, with focus on key sales periods throughout the season
  • Contribute to the Club sustainability goals through responsible product and packaging designs and by exploring ecofriendly materials and processes
  • Monitor audience feedback and ensure product ranges in keeping with a variety of different audiences.
  • Seek collaboration opportunities to create iconic & memorable collaborations with South London based brands/organisations/audiences
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.
  • Upholding and promoting the Club policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.


Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Fashion Design, Textile Design or a related field.
  • 2+ yearsexperience in apparel design, ideally within sportswear, fashion retail or lifestyle brands.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Proven ability to create commercially viable designs while maintaining brand identity.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for football, fan culture, and sports fashion
