Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

To lead the Club’s fan engagement functions in order to raise the profile of the Club and to add benefit to our supporters and customers, and tangible financial gain to the Club. In addition to building the brand strategy for the Plainmoor Stadium channels and Boots and Laces channels.

To connect key remits within the football club to drive marketing and media output in multiple areas.

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

·       Deliver strategies for improving positive fan engagement, attendance building, and supporter data (including the use of social media and the official website).  

·       Work with the Commercial team to ensure collaborative plans with sponsors and partners that build on the vision, strategic development and identity developed by The Club, therefore maximising the impact of the brand, building on partner investment and reach.

  •  Manage The Club’s brand identity and deliver the new marketing strategy.
  • Contribute to written/editorial/advertorial content of the club website, app, emails and matchday programme.
  • To ensure that quality data is being utilised across the club to enable all departments to reach existing and potential customers.
  • To establish, publicise and drive the Club’s brand through our commercial, community and initiatives; ensuring all staff are aware of and continuously focusing upon our brand.
  • To work with departments to enhance club partnerships and expand the opportunities for all parties to benefit from the enhanced focus both reputationally and financially.  
  • To raise the profile of the Club and its events, increasing attendances across matches and events.
  • Support commercial partnership activation and marketing campaigns, including club kit launches and season ticket campaigns.
  • To line manage media campaigns and activations
  • Develop campaigns and promotion of retail and ticketing
  • Develop timeline of seasonal events.
  • Design bespoke strategies per channel to engage and grow each audience with compelling, valuable content.
  • Manage and maintain a digital content calendar to ensure consistent and timely content production.
  • Monitor content performance using analytics tools and derive insights to optimise and refine content
  • To grow the brand and the Club from its current base to an enhanced position in the National League and to a wider customer base across a diversified offering including conferencing and hospitality and non-football events.
  • To work collaboratively across the management team to ensure that the best possible outcomes are reached through maximizing potential and opportunities to enhance income and attendance.
  • Any other duties as required by the Chief Executive Officer.

Matchday Duties

·   To deliver the clubs media output and liaison with key partners ensuring maximising exposure for the club.

·   Ensure that the visitor experience is deemed as excellent in areas that post holder manages.

Knowledge & Experience:

Essential:

·   Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in media or marketing

·   Marketing Experience

·   Budgeting knowledge

·   High level of attention to detail.

·   Good time management and organisational skills

·   Experience with IT and a range of software, including but not limited to, all Microsoft Office programmes and Email

·   Excellent written and telephone manner

·   A ‘can do’ attitude/mindset and flexibility to work additional hours if required

·   A genuine team player.

·   Highly effective communication and organisational skills.

·   A hardworking and enthusiastic individual.

·   Displays a high level of confidentiality.

·   Trustworthy and adherence to codes of conduct and ethics.

·   Flexibility with working hours required to meet demands of the role.

 

 

Desirable:

·   Experience working within administration / operations

A full, valid UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
