Key Responsibilities

Assist the Head of Digital and Content in the delivery of the Club’s day-to-day and long-term communications and media plans.

Focusing on the 3 social streams between Torquay United Football Club, Plainmoor Stadium and Boots and Laces - assist in managing and creating regular, engaging content for the Club’s official media channels, including but not limited to: digital and social media, website, live streaming and written publications such as the matchday programme.

The successful candidate should be an innovative individual, who possesses strong written, audio, video and photo capturing and is able to work in a fast-paced football environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

  • Plan and create engaging content for various platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and X, as well as our monthly email newsletter.
  • Develop storytelling strategies to effectively communicate our vision, values, on-site activations and community stories, whether it be copy, images, short-form videos, reels, newsletters etc.
  • Collaborate with the design and marketing teams to ensure content aligns with visual and brand guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and memes in content creation, social media, and digital marketing to keep our brand relevant and ahead of the curve.

Social Media Management:

  • Manage and grow the company’s social media presence across multiple platforms, including content scheduling, posting, and engagement.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies that align with overall marketing goals, driving brand awareness and engagement.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report monthly on performance metrics (reach, engagement, conversions, etc.) to optimize content and campaign strategies.
  • Engage with the community by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and collaborative manner.
  • Collaborate with influencers and partners to expand the brand’s reach and credibility.

Campaign Co-ordination:

  • Plan and execute paid social media advertising campaigns
  • Assist in developing and executing seasonal or event-driven social media campaigns.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align social media content with larger marketing and promotional efforts (e.g., product launches, events, and sales campaigns).

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in content creation and social media management.
  • Strong copywriting skills with attention to detail and brand voice.
  • Proficiency in graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Solid understanding of social media platforms and their best practices (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, etc.).
  • Knowledge of social media advertising and paid campaigns
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • A passion for digital culture, trends, and the evolving landscape of social media marketing.
  • Experience working with influencers or managing collaborations.
  • Photography and videography skills.
