Summary
The Manager of Business Solutions will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Partnerships department. The Business Solutions Team is the strategy arm of Corporate Partnerships that is ultimately tasked with helping generate revenue and drive value for the team's corporate partners by working directly with the Partnership Activation and Sales teams. This role manages a Coordinator as well as Partnership interns (as needed).
Responsibilities
Proposal Development
- Identify the business objectives of prospects and translate those needs and goals into a holistic, customized partnership strategy
- Ensure effective communication between departments to facilitate collaboration and seamless asset development
- Build pitch deck outlines / presentations composed of a menu of assets that meet prospective partner goals in collaboration with the Business Solutions Coordinator and Graphic Designer
- Assist the Sales and Activation teams with the creation of assets, while observing best practices from other organizations
Reporting & Insights
- Work to aggregate data / metrics for different categories that the Sales and Activation teams are presenting to clients
- Ensure data / metrics are updated regularly
Asset Management
- Oversee the maintenance of all corporate partnership inventory (e.g., game day, digital/social, community relations, broadcast, etc.)
- Assess current industry trends and conduct market research on new technologies in (and out of) sports that we can implement across our partnerships
- Evaluate and provide strategies to create new inventory based on current and historical data from all MLS teams (and other leagues)
Additional Responsibilities
- Work with Business Solutions team to run and operate an efficient workflow process within the Partnerships team
- Manage and continue to develop the skills of the Coordinator of Business Solutions and Partnership interns
- Assist in establishing interdepartmental relationships and work cross-department on partnership strategy development
- Run a weekly Business Solutions and Corporate Partnerships meeting, and effectively manage the team's time appropriately to create efficient work streams.
- Assist with helping to maintain department processes
- Work closely with other members of the Corporate Partnership team and other internal departments to achieve department goals and objectives
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant sports experience (specifically in the field of: data, analytics, marketing, and / or corporate partnerships)
- Previous experience managing staff
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in CRM Software (Agilitek or KORE)
- Proficient in Presentation Software (i.e., Canva, Pitch.com, Digideck, etc.)
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required
- Must possess a strong work ethic with a willingness to learn
