Location: Hybrid – Home-based / Stanley Park Sports Ground / Thornbury Surfacing Stadium / Match day locations as required

Hours: Approximately 37.5 hours per week

Remuneration: £500/month (Expenses July - April) + Shared accommodation (funded) + Fully funded Master’s Degree (Year 2)

Introduction

Chippenham Town FC is offering an exciting, career-defining opportunity for a recent graduate in Sports Performance or a related discipline who is seeking to gain practical experience while pursuing a Master’s Degree in a fully funded, structured professional environment. This hands-on two season placement is designed for a motivated individual ready to take the next step in their development by leading and shaping the club’s Performance Analysis provision across Academy, B Team, and First Team levels. Applicants must be UK-based and either currently living locally or willing to relocate to club-provided accommodation for the duration of the placement.

Position Overview

The Lead Performance Analyst will take a proactive role in the design, development, and delivery of performance analysis services across Chippenham Town FC. This includes both strategic and operational responsibilities, with the ultimate goal of improving player development and contributing directly to the club’s success in the National League South and beyond.

Scope of the Role

This placement involves flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays to align with the fixture calendar and training schedule.

Academy & B Team

·       Lead and manage a team of placement analysts, supporting their recruitment, training, and development.

·       Deliver weekly pre- and post-match analysis to players and staff, aligned with the Academy's technical syllabus and playing philosophy.

·       Conduct live coding and tactical analysis of selected Academy fixtures using the club’s preferred software tools.

·       Evaluate individual player performance using the club’s proprietary Possession Value Scoring System (PVSS).

·       Maintain and update the Academy player performance database after each fixture.

·       Produce tailored highlight reels and clips for players out on loan or dual registration agreements.

·       Ensure HUDL is consistently populated with player-specific clips to support development feedback.

·       Design and implement workflows that enhance the quality, consistency, and efficiency of the analysis output.

First Team

·       Collaborate with First Team coaching staff to provide insightful pre- and post-match performance analysis.

·       Conduct live match coding for all First Team fixtures.

·       Analyse First Team player performances through the PVSS framework and communicate insights to technical staff.

·       Produce regular video content on loan players and opposition analysis to aid decision-making processes.

·       Contribute to developing and refining best practices within the performance analysis department.

General Duties

Essential Requirements

·       Recent graduate in Sports Performance or a related subject (BSc or equivalent).

·       Strong working knowledge of performance analysis software and technologies (e.g., HUDL, Sportscode, Nacsport).

·       Excellent attention to detail and the ability to present complex information in a simple, impactful way.

·       Confident communicator with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

·       Ability to manage workload independently and demonstrate initiative under pressure.

·       Positive, vibrant personality who brings energy and professionalism to the environment.

·       Adaptable and calm in fast-paced, changing situations.

·       Commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding practices.

Desirable Attributes

·       Prior experience of working within a football or sporting environment in an analysis capacity.
