OBJECTIVE:
The Junior Camp Coach will be responsible for assisting with camp operations and supporting the technical delivery of camps programming at various Lower Mainland locations for youth players aged 7 to 14 who possess a wide array of skills and experiences.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Culture & Leadership
· Champion Safe Sport practices and work closely with the camps coaching team to foster a positive and enriching learning environment for all camp participants
· Drive the culture of the club and protect the integrity of club’s core values and cornerstones
· Work in a professional, positive and supportive manner with peers and as part of a coaching team
2. General Duties
· Support the delivery of camp programming to a professional standard
· Adhere to policies and standards outlined in the Camp Coach Handbook.
· Attend and participate in daily on-site briefings with coaching staff pre and post sessions
· Work with the Camp Manger to ensure that player rosters and groupings are planned for prior to the start of each camp day
· Work with coaches on documenting group changes and listing participation awards
· Monitor and frequently check the camp site to ensure that it is presented professionally and safe for participants and coaches
3. Camp Equipment & Presentation
· Assist with the daily set up and take down of all camp stations and training areas
· Assist with the distribution of camp t-shirts and giveaway items
· Assist with the set-up and take down of camp equipment such as tents, flags, tables, signage, etc.
4. Camp Safety & Supervision
· Review the EAP for each camp location and ensure understanding of the emergency action plan and the location of a stocked first aid kit
· Immediately report any Safe Sport, or other, incidents to the Camp Manager/Head Coach
· Educate players about basic safety protocols and ensure that players are held accountable for any breaches
· Ensure the safety and well-being of all players and provide due care and supervision of all players during sessions.

· Supervise players during snack break
· Follow Rule of 2 during washroom breaks
· Ensure player safety by conducting field assessments throughout the camp day
5. Camp Delivery & Coaching
· Lead Check-in and Check-out of camp participants each day.
· Manage technology, supplies and all administrative elements of the camp
· Work with coaches on documenting group changes and listing participation awards
· Review session plans and curriculum ahead of each camp day and support the delivery of the set curriculum and session plans as prescribed
· Manage time efficiently and follow the timing of groups/stations/activities and rotations
· Adhere to the club’s coaching philosophy and delivery standards
· Serve as a positive role model for sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.
· Deliver clear, enthusiastic, and age-appropriate communication.
· Utilize coaching methods and strategies to ensure age/stage appropriateness
· Work to build a positive and trusting rapport with all camp participants
· Provide camp participants with constructive feedback and instructions.
· Create a fun, inclusive, and encouraging environment for camp participants
6. Member Services
· Serve as the point of contact at the camp headquarters tent for inquiries and feedback from camp participants
· Assist with the integration of special guest appearances and visits made by club employees to camp site.
