Reports to: Academy Manager

Working Location: Woking FC Academy Training Ground (within Woking College)

Working Hours: Based around the Academy Schedule

 

Woking FC Academy are seeking a qualified and dedicated lead therapist to join their Academy programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high quality medical care and support to our scholarship players on a part time basis.

Responsibilities

 •   To plan, deliver and support the medical provision for all Academy players

•   To support the medical department in line with the club policy

•   Oversee the treatment and rehabilitation of Academy players daily (U17-U23)

•   Run weekly clinic open to all Youth Academy players (U9-U16)

•   To undertake regular CPD and training relevant for the role to progress the Medical department and medical provision

•   Maintain medical notes in conjunction with CSP/ HCPC standards

•   Contribute to ongoing staff and player education

•   Pitch-side emergency first aid for training and games

•   Liaise as necessary with local hospitals/A & E departments as required for player care.

•   Provide a holistic approach when managing injuries, referring to sport psychology where appropriate

•   Be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works collaboratively to support the development of young people

•   Input into weekly staff meetings around players availability / return to play timescales.

•   To liaise with parents as and when necessary to provide them with the relevant information

•   To familiarise yourself with the Medical Emergency Action Plan and to ask for training if you are unfamiliar with the MEAP.

 

Qualifications (Essential)

•            BSC Hons in Physiotherapy / Sports Therapy / Sports Rehabilitation

•            Intermediate Trauma and Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) or equivalent

•            Up to date FA DBS and Safeguarding Certificate

 

Experience

•            Working with youth and young adult footballers players or athletes from other sports

•            Creating rehabilitation plans for young athletes

•            Proficiency in creating presentations, reports and emails.

•            Working within a full time academy environment.
