Job Description

Job Title: Under-23’s Team Manager
Location: Rugby Borough Women FC (Nationwide Windows Arena)
Reports to: Head of Pathway
Contract Type: Paid Hourly
Training Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00–9:30 PM
Match Day: Sundays


Role Purpose:


To lead, coach, and manage the Rugby Borough U23’s Squad, providing a structured 
pathway for young adult players progressing from youth to senior football. The manager 
will be responsible for player development, match preparation, and fostering a 
professional and supportive team culture.


Key Responsibilities:


• Plan and deliver high-quality training sessions twice a week in line with the club’s 
development philosophy.
• Select, manage, and coach the team during Sunday matches, ensuring effective 
in-game management and tactical adaptability.
• Identify and nurture talented players, supporting their progression toward the 
senior team.
• Work closely with the senior management and coaching staff to align the U23 
squad’s playing style and philosophy with the club's overall approach.
• Conduct regular player reviews and provide individual feedback to aid 
development.
• Maintain discipline, motivation, and a positive learning environment within the 
team.
• Ensure timely communication with players regarding training, fixtures, and club 
updates.
• Manage match-day logistics including team sheets, equipment, and 
substitutions.
• Adhere to all club policies including safeguarding, health and safety, and codes 
of conduct.


Person Specification:


Essential:
• FA Level 2/UEFA C License (or working toward it)
• FA DBS
• Current FA Safeguarding Children Workshop
• Experience coaching in youth or development football
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Understanding of long-term player development principles
• Available on weekday evenings and Sundays


Desirable:
• Previous experience managing an U21/U23 or senior amateur team
• Familiarity with performance analysis tools or platforms
• Current FA First Aid certifications
