JOB TITLE: Lead Goalkeeping Coach - Women’s Academy
LOCATION: Cobham Training ground – Plus travel to and from away fixtures
CONTRACT: Fixed Term – 12 Months
The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity to join the Women’s Academy and devise, manage & deliver an elite youth goalkeeping development programme designed to produce goalkeepers capable of playing for Chelsea FC Women.
Key Responsibilities;
· Plan & lead the strategic development of the Women’s Academy goalkeeping programme in collaboration with the Head of Women’s Academy & Senior Team Lead GK Coach.
· Working closely with the Senior Team Lead GK Coach to design & implement the academy goalkeeping programme for all age groups.
· Leads the delivery of the goalkeeping programme for the U18 age group.
· Leads the individual action plans for the U18 goalkeepers, including the creation of game/training clips.
· Provides matchday support at all U18 games, as well as other age groups as required.
· Oversees & monitors the delivery of the goalkeeping programme for the U12-U16 age groups, assisting where necessary.
· Works closely with academy MDT to ensure goalkeeper development needs are met with analysis, physical performance, medical, psychology & menstrual cycle.
· Works with Academy Talent ID Lead & Senior Team GK coach to build & maintain database & longlist of youth GKs across all age groups. Creates & stores video packages of opposition GKs U16 & below.
· Supports the U18 goalkeepers with tactical information during sessions with the U18 team.
· Leads the delivery of the set piece process for the U18 team – works closely with Senior Team Lead GK coach to ensure consistent delivery between Senior Team & U18 age group.
· Works with age group coaches to deliver & cascade the Chelsea Goalkeeper Profile within the team playing style.
· Periodically reviews GK progress across all age groups and produces reports for Head of Women’s Academy & Senior Team Lead GK Coach.
· Assists the Senior Team Lead GK Coach in the delivery of internal & external CPD for goalkeeping staff & any other relevant stakeholders.
What you will bring to the role
· UEFA B GK Licence (Essential)
· UEFA B Licence (Essential)
· FA Youth Award (Essential)
· FA Safeguarding Qualification (Essential)
· FA First Aid Qualification (Essential)
· UEFA A GK Licence (Desirable)
· 3-5 years’ coaching experience in an elite youth development football environment (Essential)
· Experience working with elite youth female athletes (Desirable)
· Previous experience of leading a youth goalkeeping development programme (Desirable)
