Coordinator, Social Media - Summer Internship

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Execute day-to-day social media initiatives by developing and posting content on
  the club’s Whitecaps FC 2 & Whitecaps FC Academy/Vancouver Rise FC
  Academy social channels, including X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok,
  Website.
• Work on MLS NEXT Pro (Whitecaps FC 2) & League1 BC (Whitecaps FC
  Academy/Vancouver Rise FC Academy) matchdays to provide real-time
  coverage across social media platforms through execution of posts, content
  creation, picture and video editing, and graphic production, as needed.
• Coordinate with photographer to access live photos.
• Monitor and engage communication with fans across all social media platforms in
  real-time.
• Support with the filming and editing of short-form videos on platforms such as
  reels and TikTok.
• Participate in the editorial and content creation process by identifying interesting
  storylines and creating engaging content opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (e.g., Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Sports Management).
• Demonstrated experience with major social media platforms (X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok).
• Basic skills in content creation, including writing, photo and video editing, and graphic design.
• Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro), Canva, or similar.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in a team environment and coordinating with others, such as photographers.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, especially during matchdays.
• Understanding of how to engage with fans and respond to comments and messages in real-time.
• Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality content.
• Passion for Sports: Genuine interest in soccer and familiarity with Whitecaps FC and its associated leagues.
