Job Description

Position Overview: Markham Soccer Club is seeking a dedicated and skilled Competitive
Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum Soccer for Life
qualification and must adhere to all league requirements and standards. This position
offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of young athletes in a
competitive soccer environment.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Training and Development:
o Plan and conduct high-quality training sessions that align with club and
player development objectives.
o Develop individual player skills and team tactics to enhance performance
and competitiveness.
o Provide constructive feedback and guidance to players to facilitate their
growth and improvement.
2. Game Management:
o Strategically coach competitive matches to achieve desired outcomes while
fostering sportsmanship and team spirit.
o Analyze game performance and adjust strategies as necessary to maximize
team success.
3. Player Development:
o Foster a positive and supportive environment that promotes the holistic
development of players both on and off the field.
o Mentor players in sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork while
encouraging a love for the game.
4. Communication and Collaboration:
o Communicate effectively with players, parents, and club management
regarding training schedules, team expectations, and player progress.
o Collaborate with other coaches and staff to ensure consistent coaching
methodologies and program alignment.
5. Compliance and Professionalism:
o Ensure compliance with all league rules, regulations, and safety guidelines
during practices and matches.
o Uphold the values and standards of Markham Soccer Club both on and off
the field.

 

Qualifications:
• Minimum Soccer for Life coaching certification.
• Proven experience coaching competitive soccer teams, preferably at the youth
level.
• Strong understanding of soccer techniques, tactics, and player development
principles.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential.


Additional Requirements:
• Availability to coach evening practices and weekend games as per the club's
schedule.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in coaching and soccer
education.
