Recreational Staff Coaches
North Durham United F.C. are seeking a number of individuals to coach within our
recreational soccer programs in Port Perry and Uxbridge this summer season.
Hours of Work
Both full time and part time positions are available. Full-time will be an average of 30 hours
per week (Mon-Thurs) working daytime summer camps and evening recreational programs.
Part-time coaches will work 16-20 hours per week within our evening youth rec programs.
Additional mandatory attendance is required at our Recreational Festivals (June 7thUxbridge/ Aug 16- Port Perry).
Roles & Responsibilities
Under direction of the Coach Supervisor, deliver age appropriate ball mastery
sessions for all age groups from U4-U12
Volunteer coach integration & support
Coaching/supervision of players before, during & after games, with the assistance
of volunteers
Building a soccer community with players and coaches by being knowledgeable
about the game, friendly and engaging.
Attend pre-season training sessions and have a clear understanding of the key skill
elements of each session
Qualifications & Position Details
Candidate must be between the ages of 18- 30 (due to the parameters of the
Canada Summer Jobs program).
Candidate should either have a minimum of 1 year coaching experience, played the
sport for a number of years, or demonstrate a desire to coach.
Candidate must have or be prepared to complete prior to commencement of
employment- Canada Soccer Learn To Train course, NCCP Keeping Girls in Sport,
Making Headway in Soccer, Making Ethical Decisions, Respect in Sport for Sport
Leaders, The Rule of Two and Emergency Action Plan courses.
Successful candidates will be required to be First Aid and CPR certified.
Successful candidates will be required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Check,
to possess a driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
