Altrincham FC is actively raising the profile and performance level of our women’s team as we embark on an exciting new era.

 

Previously operating under Altrincham FC Community Sports – the official charity of the club – the women’s team is now fully integrated into the football department, alongside the men’s first team, reserves, and academy.

 

Under the guidance of Duncan Jones, Head of Women’s Football, and newly appointed Daryll Abrahams, the team is focused on creating the most elite and professional environment possible to support long-term development and success.

 

This is a part-time, VOLUNTARY role as of 2025/26 Season.

 

💼 Role Overview – What You’ll Do:

This is a part-time, voluntary position beginning from the 2025/26 season, ideal for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience within a progressive women’s football environment.

 

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pitch-side first aid and immediate injury assessment during training sessions and matchdays.
  • Deliver pre-training and pre-match treatments, including strapping, taping, soft tissue therapy, and joint mobilisation techniques.
  • Lead individualised warm-up and cool-down routines focused on injury prevention and mobility.
  • Support injured players through ongoing rehabilitation plans and contribute to return-to-play protocols.
  • Monitor player wellbeing and identify early signs of fatigue or injury risk using both observation and objective data.
  • Maintain clear and accurate injury records, treatment logs, and communicate status updates with coaching and medical staff.
  • Liaise with coaching staff to modify player workload when necessary, based on medical advice and player status.
  • Educate players on recovery techniques, self-management strategies, hydration, sleep, and nutrition to support optimal performance and reduce injury risk.
  • Assist with physical performance testing and screenings to assess mobility, flexibility, strength, and functional movement.
  • Ensure all medical equipment, including first aid kits and emergency supplies, are fully stocked and compliant with safety regulations.

 

Essential Requirements:
• Enhanced DBS (current and valid)
• First Aid qualification (Emergency Aid in Football or equivalent)
• Safeguarding certification


• Qualified or currently studying towards a recognised qualification in:
o Sports Therapy
o Physiotherapy
o Strength & Conditioning
o Sport & Exercise Science

🗓 Time Commitment & Location:

This is a voluntary, part-time role running throughout the 2025/26 season. The successful candidate will be expected to attend: (6 HOURS PER WEEK)

 

  • Training: Tuesdays 7:00–9:00pm & Thursdays 7:30-9:00pm (Locations: Partington/Cheadle, South Manchester)
  • Matches: Sunday 1:30-4:00pm (Locations: Across Northwest)
