THE POSITION

The Team Services Venue Officer (TSVO) is a full-time role that serves as the primary point of contact at an assigned Team Base Camp, Referee Base Camp or Venue Specific Training Site and paired hotel, ensuring full operational readiness of the Team Facilities prior to team’s arrival and that all facility requirements are met. The TSVO is responsible to assist the designated Team Facilities Coordinator with set deadlines and deliverables and must maintain an excellent relationship with relevant stakeholders and all functional areas. 
 
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Team Services Venue Officer for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:   
  • Responsible for the smooth delivery of the team’s operation at the Team Facilities daily by coordinating all involved functional areas in an appropriate manner.   
  • Ensuring that the exclusive use period at the Team Base Camp Training Site (TBCTS) / Venue Specific Training Site (VSTS) / Referee Base Camp (RBC) is respected.    
  • Overseeing the overall operations at the Team Base Camp Hotel (TBCH) / Venue Specific Team Hotel (VSTH) leading up to and during the tournament. 
  • Coordinating and monitoring the delivery of planned overlay material and equipment to Team Facilities to ensure sites can operate according to FIFA Requirements.   
  • Acting as venue manager and serving as the interface between FIFA and various stakeholders, including the Training Site Authority.   
  • Leading cross-functional interaction with all Functional Areas (Pitch Management, Facility Management, Security, etc.) and other stakeholders involved across all Team Facilities (TBCs, VSTSs, etc.).   
  • Preparing, coordinating and accompanying Teams on official inspection visits.   
  • Preparing, coordinating and leading FIFA functional area site visits to Team Facilities. 
  • Participating in table-top exercises, development of the Site Operational Plans and daily schedules.

YOUR PROFILE

Education & Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years old. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline) required. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.  
  • American or International Driver’s License.   
  • Must have strong organizational skills and work well with people of other cultures and backgrounds. 
Work Experience
  • 3 to 5 years of previous work experience in major sporting events or a similar role  
  • Excellent customer service experience.  
  • Strong communication skills – both oral and written.  
  • Ability to work with a team and independently. 
  • Exceptional planning, organizational and administrative skills.    
  • Positive attitude, patience and persistence.  
  • Knowledge of global sports event operations – any event project management process is an added benefit. 
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation and interpersonal skills.  
  • Flexibility in adapting to ambiguity and constant change.
  • Demonstrates ability to excel under pressure .       
Language
  • Proficiency in English is required, and fluency in any of the following relevant second languages is an added benefit: Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Korean, or Japanese. 
Technology
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
