JOB TITLE: Equality & Diversity Officer and Senior Officer

DEPARTMENT: Education & Innovation Team, Chelsea Foundation

LOCATION: Stamford Bridge with travel to Cobham Training Ground

CONTRACT: Permanent, Full Time

 

JOB FUNCTION:

To be responsible for the strategic and operational design and delivery of Equality and Diversity Education activities and programmes on behalf of the Chelsea FC Foundation. This will include the delivery of a range of initiatives and established programmes including E&D workshops, targeted female activity and other identified programmes Foundation wide.

To work with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Manager at the club to support with the PLEDIS across the Foundation, along with other strategic responsibilities as directed.

 

PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities):

  •      Oversee the delivery of all Foundation Equality & Diversity Education Programme elements – including operational and strategic delivery, as well as line management of associated officers and coordinators to ensure all elements meet required standards
  • Develop and deliver Equality & Diversity programme schemes to inspire participants of all ages targeted involved in the programme, which will include the creation of resources and promotional materials
  • Work collaboratively with the football club and Foundation on the strategy of Equality & Diversity initiatives to identify potential service gaps, and potential for grants to develop Foundation provision
  • To communicate and engage with target number of schools across the Foundation in various boroughs.
  • Build key relationships with key partners, schools, youth services, grassroots providers, NGBs and local authorities for the benefit of all Equality & Diversity programmes, and ensuring the programme meets local and wider needs
  • Work with the Schools Education Manager and Head of Education & Innovation to identify development opportunities and service gaps within existing programmes, and then subsequently identify suitable partners and/or funders to develop programme funding applications
  • Attend Local Strategic Partnership Meetings to raise awareness of our local provision, and then network to enhance new funding and delivery opportunities
  • Co-ordinate, schedule and deliver targeted activities linked to the programme including schools based and stadium sessions.
  • To undertake any Foundation activities that maybe required in addition to the role.

HERE TO WIN (Measures of Performance):

  • To demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and provide to support to others with developing their own E&D subject knowledge.
  • To be responsible for collating and inputting all relevant monitoring and evaluation (M&E) information for each project.
  •       To develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including schools, colleges, local authority, voluntary sector organisations and other funders.
  • To source and successfully apply for funding for E&D Education programmes.
  • Complete and submit project reports at 6-month intervals, or as and when required internally or in accordance with the needs of each funder.
  •      To achieve weekly and monthly targets as set out by the Schools Education Manager and work to targets as identified through the PLEDIS work and Equality Action Plans.
  •      To attend regular team and organisation meetings reporting key performance achievements/areas for improvement.
  •      To demonstrate the ability to drive and innovate new and existing opportunities individually and as part of a dynamic team. Ability to work in a confident and flexible manner, and understand the importance of private and confidential material
  •     Ensure success stories are captured through working with Chelsea FC Foundation/Chelsea FC media staff.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Relevant professional and/or academic qualifications or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the industry sector.
  •      Emergency Aid and Safeguarding Children Certificates.

Desirable

  •     Sports Coaching Qualification
  •     Clean Driving Licence

 

Experience:

Essential

  •     A strong knowledge of and experience in working in a Charity
  •     Experience in line management of full-time and sessional staff members.
  • Working in a school environment
  • Understanding schools needs and challenges
  • Understanding of the needs of groups who will be involved in the programme
  • Creative mind-set to help design and implement ‘Equality and Diversity Education’ programme
  • Knowledge of government agendas related to education and young people
  • Ability to use a range of ICT and Multimedia for design and delivery 

Desirable

  • Teaching Qualifications (PETTL / PGCE)
  • Outstanding track record in developing education programmes and opportunities for groups who may be hard to reach
  • Knowledge of Chelsea FC Foundation, CCO’s and Football Charity programmes
  • Knowledge of PLCF and PLPFA funded projects
  • Knowledge of Monitoring & Evaluation and quality assurance programmes relevant to the industry sector
  •      GDPR knowledge compliance
