PLACEMENT TITLE:  Academy Analyst 

DEPARTMENT: Coaching

REPORTS TO:  Academy Manager and Lead Coaches

LOCATION: Home based / Stanley Park Sports Ground / Thornbury Surfacing Stadium

HOURS: - 15 hours per week

SALARY:  £150 per month Expenses

Chippenham Town are now looking to recruit an Academy Analyst to work on short and long term projects across our U19 and B team squad.   This exciting role is an important part to the clubs vision of creating a core of Academy based players within the first team and would provide a fantastic platform to showcase the successful candidates knowledge, delivery and potential.

Job description 

To record, clip and code content as required by Coaches.  Analyse individual player performance through the clubs unique in game player scoring system.

Key responsibilities 

  • Coding all academy matches.
  • Produce post match analysis to players/staff in a user friendly format
  • Analyse player performance through the Academies unique player scoring system
  • Update the Academies database after each fixture
  • Producing clips and highlight packages for dual registered/loan players

General responsibilities

Safeguarding 

• This role carries a specific safeguarding responsibility. This means that the post-holder is required to apply all relevant policies and uphold the Club’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people.

Key relationships  

• To report too and work closely with the lead coaching staff

• To work closely alongside all other Academy and first team staff in support of each players development, as a member of Coaching Team. 

• To ensure positive relationships with players.

Scope of job 

• This position will involve approximately 16 - 20 hours per week and may include duties outside normal office hours including evenings, weekends and on public holidays.

Person Specification 

General skills and attributes

  • Currently enrolled or recently completed a Higher Education Sports related course.
  • A vibrant and demanding personality that brings a positive impact to our elite environment. 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience of analysis within sport and associated software - preferably football
  • Ability to work using own initiative.
  • Be proactive networking with other coaches, sharing information and ideas of how to improve practice.
  • Calm under pressure and able to adapt to changing situations.
  • Ability to communicate complex data in terms that are easily understood by a wide range of audiences.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills that can motivate behavioural change to have a positive impact on performance.
  • An understanding of individual responsibility in complying with Health and Safety policies.
  • Personal commitment to continued professional development
  • Operate within the rules of professional confidentiality to liaise with athletes, medical staff, sports sciences staff, coaches and other support staff as appropriate.
