PLACEMENT TITLE:  Set Piece Analyst (Placement)

DEPARTMENT: Coaching

REPORTS TO:  First Team Manager, Lead Coaches and Academy Manager

LOCATION: Home based / Stanley Park Sports Ground / Thornbury Surfacing Stadium 

HOURS: 15 hours per week

SALARY:  £150 per month Expenses

Chippenham Town are now looking to recruit a Set Piece Analyst to work on short and long term projects across our U19, B team and first team squad who play in the National League South .   This exciting role is an important part to the clubs vision of creating a core of Academy based players within the first team and would provide a fantastic platform to showcase the successful candidates knowledge, delivery and potential.

Job Description 

The successful candidate will lead the research and support of set piece analysis to the first team and Academy coaching staff, providing detailed analysis on opponent teams, as well as reviews of clubs matches and training sessions.

Key responsibilities 

  • Support and assist the coaching staff in all aspects of set play analysis and execution, both at the training ground and on match days.
  • Provide detailed pre-match analysis on upcoming opponents, breaking down their strategies, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Ability to present reviews, ideas and solutions to the coach.
  • In-game analysis: support the set play process during matches, focusing on pre-match set up and actionable feedback during the games.
  • Provide game-plan reviews on team and players level with the coaching staff.
  • Proactively provide insights on player and team development throughout the season, constantly reviewing performances and delivering feedback with video and data.
  • Maintain and organise required reference / performance databases.
  • Proactive study of set piece trends and keeping up to date on what's happening around the footballing world.

• To report too and work closely with the lead coaching staff

• To work closely alongside all other Academy and first team staff in support of each players development, as a member of Coaching Team. 

• To ensure positive relationships with players.

Scope of job 

• This position will involve approximately 15  hours per week and may include duties outside normal office hours including evenings, weekends and on public holidays.

Person Specification 

General skills and attributes

  • Currently enrolled or recently completed a Higher Education Sports related course.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience of analysis within sport and associated software - preferably football
  • A vibrant and demanding personality that brings a positive impact to our elite environment.
  • Ability to work using own initiative.
  • Unrivalled work ethic
